On November 3rd and 4th an intergenerational trip to Lopushna and Zlatiza valleys was organized. The participants visited the church of “The Holy Ascension“, the 350-year old oak-tree, the villages of Bistrilitza and Kopilovtsi and the Lopushanski Monastery “St. John the Baptist" and learned much about the history and traditions of their local surroundings.
The second Big Foot test in Bulgaria was held on 1 September, 2012, and comprised an excursion from Berkovitza through the Petrohanski passage to the peak of Todorini kukli (dolls), down to the Klisurski monastery, and back to Berkovitza - a trip of about 24 km.
The first test for the project Big Foot in Bulgaria was held on 19th of August as an outing to peak “Zdravchenitza”.The outing was inspiring for both the younger and the older participants. The young learned their history and legends connected with the picturesque surroundings, and the seniors had an opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences.
On July 3rd the third consultation meeting with stakeholders in Bulgaria was held. It took place in the spacious hall of the local community center “Ivan Vazov – 1872” in Berkovitza, Bulgaria
On June 17th, in the region of "Popov bridge" located between the villages of Kopilovtsi and Govezda , Montana Province , the fifth annual folk festival "Svidnia" took place.
On May 29, 2012, the second consultation meeting was held in Berkovitsa,in order to continue the assessment of the target groups and their environment and defining the area for the local experiment. the meeting was held in the third primary school in Berkovitza - “Ivan Vazov”.
On April 7, 2012, in the village Borovtsi the participants of the community center "Development" under the direction of the secretary Elka Todorova Doncheva, reincarnated the custom lazarouvane.
The Big Foot partners met the residents of the municipality of Berkovitsa in a community workshop held as a part of the "BIG FOOT" third project partner meeting, held on 27 and 28 March 2012 in the city of Berkovitsa.
The first public evening was held on 21January 2012 in Berkovitsa, Bulgaria, as part of the meeting honoring the memory of four of the most prominent citizens and heroes of the Berkovitsa region.
